Recommended MOT Stations?

Post by alanworland »

Hi, Is their a list of 'preferred' MOT Stations for our various locations? I would like to get my newly restored Sidevalve MOTed and would rather take it somewhere that liked working on older cars rather than by someone just doing what is needed. I live in the Benfleet, Essex area and welcome suggestions!

The best thing you can do is join your local club and ask them. Details available under "branches" menu item on the left.

"3. ESSEX
Meeting Day/Time: Various Usually Sunday 2.00 pm for 2.30 pm
Location: Various - Contact MMOC for details."

entry is not very helpful! :o

Can someone please amend the Essex entry?
Cheers John - all comments IMHO

Depending on how far you want to travel, Champion Motors in West Station Yard, Maldon (Essex) are very good anf fair.

As regards the Essex branch, that's an accurate entry. Meetins are usually, but not always, on a Sunday toward sthe end of the month; usually but not always 14:00 for 14:30; sometimes, but not always at the Danbury Sports & Social Club. Also attend "outside" events in the summer (and sometimes in the winter too). Best bet is to contact the Secretary (details in MM) who will provide a copy of the programme. Newcomers always made welcome.

Again, if you don't mind the travel, Trinity Service Station in Springfield Road Chelmsford have been good to me. Been going there for 10 years now. I think the tester used to maintain Post Office vans at one time which helps :D .......
