Convertible hood.

Try as I might I cannot find a list/diagram/photo of the complete set of parts needed for a convertible roof.
I believe there should be a fabric covering for the front header rail and also on the rear wooden (3 part) fixing rail. Also what is the arrangement at the rear? does the hood rear inner edge/lip fix to the underside of the rear rail which is then covered by the outer edge/lip?

I can only go by my hood which has the hood material stretched over the front rail and secured under the wing bolts area. That is how I did mine anyway. My original rear wooden former is in one piece, not three,
and no, the double flaps at the rear are both outside the wood. the inner flap is the one which has the fixings through it into the wood and the outer flap hides these screws to give a neat finish.

Do you mean the material that comprises the 'roof'. Albert seemed to have a layer of thinner material (similar to saloon headlining) wrapped all around the header rail.

Yes indeedy but what is it called and what can I do about replacing it?

And believe me, it's a frustrating business when you spend £150 on a hood and it comes with no instructions and all you can find to help is a battered Haynes restoration manual with 1970's 2DPI photos comprised of nothing more than 3 shades of grey.

Peetee, mine never had an additional cover over the front rail so I used the excess at the front to hide it as I said. If you have no instructions then you must fit the hood when it is warm so that it can be well stretched, otherwise it will flap against the frame. Do not forget a layer of 1/4" foam under the front rail,before you cover it, to give a leak free
fit to the windscreen top.
