Where do i start?

Post by youngun »

Im now basically down to a bare chassis, and i now know what i need to weld.
Nearside Chassis leg
Sills all round
Front inner wings, plus some patching.
Rear and front spring hangers
Patching on the boot floor
Patching in the cabin floor

Where do i start? If it helps i already have a new chassis leg.

The plan is to work from the front to the back, so chassis leg first?? I will be getting the car on its side, what is the best way to go about this?

Thanks again!

I guess you need to work out a logical method of construction.

An example would be doing the floors before the sills as the sills require good floors to fix to.

I'd also do the sills before the inner wings as the ends of the sills, where they meet the wings, can be rotton so would need attention first.

I guess chassis leg, spring hangers and boot floor would be last... in no particular order as far as I can work out.
Of course I have no experience whatsoever in these matters, I'm just applying some basic logic to it.
What would Macgyver do..?

The other thing to consider is doing some easy jobs first to build up your skills before moving on to the trickier parts.

If it doesn't work, you're not hitting it with a big enough hammer.
