Hi
Firstly let me thank you all for your help with my master cylinder back in the February. In the end I had to replace the whole unit, which turned out not to be as difficult as I thought it was going to be. I just followed the guide in the technical tips section.
My problem this month is I am trying to fix all the engine oil leaks (no small task lol). I have managed to seal up pretty much everything with new cork gaskets, except the two inspection plates on the side of the engine. I have tried cork and plastic gaskets and the last time I did them I used cork with instant gasket on both faces. However oil appears to be coming out of the holes where the bolt goes through. I have tried flat washers rather then the shake proof star ones that were on the previously but still no luck.
Should there be some kid of seal fitted to the head of the bolt or something like that - oh and how tight should the bolt be? I know if it is too tight the gasket squashes out of place.
How do other people get the plates to work, is there a trick I need to know?
(my previous post if anyone is interested...)
