hs4 carb help

Post by benno »

I've found an old hs4 carb in a mates garage and wondered what I would need to fit it to a standard 1098 exhaust setup and whether it's worth putting it on? Cheers

Yes its worth putting it on, you need to find an inlet/ehaust manifold for a 998 all bolt on stuff. Or you can use an alloy inlet manifold and cut the inlet part off your standard manifold.

The 1.25" carb is a bit of a bottleneck...

Check if the float chamber is (or can be modified) to stand vertically when mounted on the manifold you intend to use. Alloy manifold with NO exhaust heat is the way to go.
