Leaky Windscreen Corners! '67 Traveller.

My new '67 Traveller leaks water in through the lower corners.

Is there anything I can do or do I have to change the windscreen seals (which sounds like a horrendous job!).

Mine has the same problem. I've reduced the leak by sealing the top of the rubber to the roof with some non-silicone clear bathroom sealant - I didn't fancy changing the rubber either though it obviously needs it. Frost sell 'proper' black windscreen sealant which I've yet to try. Apparently silicone is bad news on steel (the acetic acid base I think).

Nick if you are worried about it get a new rubber from one of the specialists and find a local friendly windscreen fitter who will do a private job for you and its job done, if the rubber is good do as suggested and use the correct sealant. This might help

I keep putting mine off although I've got the rubbers ready.

There is no 'fix' other than to change the rubber. Trust me, I've tried literally coating it in different sealants and tried vaseline. Niether provide a 100% seal.

As for finidng a windscreen chap - good luck!
The AA guy who does them at work said he wouldnt touch something like this. If it doesn't simply glue in he's not interested in the agro.

If you've got a spare 50 quid you could always chuck a brick through the front screen and claim a new one (and hence new rubber) from insurance.
