Loss of power when hot

When my Minor is happily running along but gets a bit hot, there is a noticeable loss of power. At low revs the engine pulls, but not as strongly, but its at higher revs that its noticeable: if I'm pootling along at 30mph normally when I press the accellerator the car speeds up strongly, even in 4th, but when the engine is hot it feels like there is some inertia/blockage/resistance and no speeding up happens. Its even more noticeable on hills.

Any ideas whats causing it?

Long shot... would my nice unused rocker cover with vent help?

Errr NO. Have you tried adjusting the timing yet Barry - we left it just set at a guess. Try advancing it slightly. Really - it should go better when hot unless it's seizing up!! Is the oil pressure still good ?

Oil pressure still fine oil level too.
