indicator warning light

Post by steve4063 »

my little green light isn't flashing?

tried diferent flasher units.
it comes on occasionly but not all the time usually once when u first switch them on but then only like once every time the indicator flashes about 20 if that makes sense.

so for every 20 flashes of the indiactor the little green light wil flash once.

i will say tho only the front are wired up at the mo

Does the front flash really fast? If so try it with a 2nd bulb inline as that affects the flasher unit and might affect the stalk bulb. Also check the filament in the stalk bulb.

i've taken the bulb out (and broke the green bit in the process :x )
tried it on the battery worked fine so i know the little bulb is ok

it did flash quickly on a dif fl;asher unit but the one thats already in there it flashed surprisingly slow but an ok speed.

and hello Lee i thought u were avoiding me  you haven't spoken for a while

Are you sure all your flasher lamps are working properly - do they all flash at the right speed and correct brightness ?

I think this may be caused by a faulty flasher unit - mine did something very similar before I replaced it.

If it doesn't work, you're not hitting it with a big enough hammer.

the original unit flashed slow but nice and bright on the bulbs

swapped it for a couple of spares in my box and they flashed loads quicker but the same brightness.

i've tried 4 dif units

Can't believe that all was well with the indicators on the Trav and worked properly if all the bulbs weren't connected, that's all. The flasher unit is very fussy about the load it carries.

yes i had the fronts all wired but not the rear and it worked ok on the trav.

which is why i thought it was broken on the 4 door.

Me too - but I'd say that they were flashing at the wrong speed with only the fronts on. Sorry - veteran of MANY battles with the flasher unit :(

I had the same problem on my Scammell truck, the warning light stopped working. It was because a bulb (or lamp to be politically correct) had popped.

just a thought maybe they are designed like that so you know if a bulb has blown :o

early version of a computerised system to alert you of a problem lol
