Has she ever been to Orkney? Go on, let's see you're sales pitch

However, on another subject I will soon be writing to Mrs Judge!
Hi folks,
Room for another?
Just been having a talk with the other half, and were both interested in this trip, especially now the JOGLE is off for this year - need the Scotland fix.
OK, we both need to arrange time off work and get a Minor up to scratch for the run which will almost certainly involve an engine rebuild but the enthusiasms there!
cheers
Iain

The general idea was that everyone book their own accomodation based on the itinary posted on 2 May. If they then let me know their arrangements I will try to arrange somewhere where we can meet and have a meal each night.
I would suggest that you start making arrangements now Alex, particularly for your accomodation on Orkney. As I have said previously, it is their show week and accomodation will be at a premium.
I think it would be sensible for people to post here details of what accommodation they've booked or are planning to book, otherwise we could end up camping at (for example) three different sites spread over a ten mile radius when we could just have easily all stayed at the same one.
I previously suggested the Kirkwall Youth Hostel for Orkney itself. Anyone else fancy that?
Also, as I asked before, is the plan to catch the 18:45 ferry from Gill's Bay to St. Margaret's Hope on Saturday, stay two nights on Orkney, then come back on the 08:00 Monday ferry?

If it doesn't work, you're not hitting it with a big enough hammer.
Just spotted this thread - I'll go to as only have to go 7 miles
If you guys need any info whatsoever - accomodation, ferries etc just PM me for my email / phone / or MSN
If any of you are into camping then have a lot of fields here if you can put up with the pet sheep.
New garage should be built by then too if anyone needs to make any repairs.
Kindest regards
Kevin
Welcome to the Messageboard Kevin, and thanks for the offers of help, very much appreciated.
It would be nice if we could get all the Minors together at the show. Having been there on more than one occasion, it does seem that you have quite a few split screens up there
Outside space is not an issue here - as peaceful and scenic a place as you can get - inside space alas is an issue, but the kettles always on and and plenty of cold beers in the fridge
Renovating a traditional old steading seems to be taking a few years longer than expected
Just occurred actually the next door neighbour down the road is in the vintage club here, barn full of old french something or others so he's sure to have any contacts needed in the club at this end.
