Following on from my discussions earlier about MGF rims, I have just aquired a set of 14" 5.5J steel wheels. I am not sure of the offsets yet, but assuming that there are no problems in that regard whats the consesus on tyre sizes?
I was thinking of 175/65/14 or 17/70/14 the former being my preference due to the similarity of rolling radius to a standard minor wheel. I am aiming for the car to look as standard as possible from the outside. Has anyone got any better ideas?

you could also consider 165/70/14 - may be available for a decent price and will help clearance on the front suspension if that's an issue.

BMC... yes I know, pcd OF 95.25mm (3.75") I keep saying the trav has marina running gear. If it didnt I would have found 14" wheels long before now
It seems that you get uber budget tyres in 175/65/14 (ie. under £20) but pirelli P3000's are still only £30 (from a reputable online dealer)
