Dipstick

Post by southerly95 »

I have just noticed that our 65 moggy doesn't have the plastic tube that goes into the block to locate the dipstick.

The engine (1098) came from an A40 :o does anyone know if there should be one on this version of A series engine? If wrong I must be running on a lower oil level than recommended?

Thanks, John

I think dipstick lengths varied to suit the block - so you could be ok. If it has a biggish hole then yes it should have a tube in there.

Punch in A40 1098 to Google, you should be able to track down the answer on there.
