Dipstick

I have just noticed that our 65 moggy doesn't have the plastic tube that goes into the block to locate the dipstick.

The engine (1098) came from an A40

does anyone know if there should be one on this version of A series engine? If wrong I must be running on a lower oil level than recommended?

I think dipstick lengths varied to suit the block - so you could be ok. If it has a biggish hole then yes it should have a tube in there.

Punch in A40 1098 to Google, you should be able to track down the answer on there.
