Post by steve4063 »

just got the 4 door up on ramps to have a good look underneath.

bodywork is about 90% good from the top looks a REALLY nice car but underneath.

chasis is gone cross member gone all sills and 1 to 2 " of floor gone and a few more holes that have been cut out.

rear where the dampers attaches one side is gone about 2 foot box section

no carpets will need all new brakes seats ok
engine near enough all there and good will have new gaskets and bushes etc.

need new springs on back

is it worth doing.
i got cross mem ber and both outer undersills with the car when i bought it

stands me in nearly £200
what do these fetch when all done any ideas

i know it will be worth keeping another on the road but is it a viable project i do ALL the work myself so mainly materials. and prob 1 to 2 months work money permiting

Yes, its definitely worth doing. I'm going to do simmilar work to my 4-door, in fact if your car has good paint and interior- i.e wont need painting, then its definitely worth doing. My 4-door has poor paint, no carpets and the interior needs work. Its still going to get done, though!

A Classic restored to sell is never going to make you money.
