Mounting an electric fan

Post by paulhumphries »

When fitting my 1275 engine & autobox I understand I will need an electric fan as there is insufficent room after relocating them forward to create enough clearance.
Others have recommended a 9" SPAL unit and this is what I've had delivered by the postman this morning (£42 off eBay).
A quick look at the car has me wondering how to mount.
The grill seems solid so I was considering using the vertical members as locating points but wonder how others might have installed their fans ?

Thanks.

Paul Humphries.

if your mounting it in front of the rad SPOL supply pins that go through the fan frame and the rad or long straps which bolt to the fan frame and the other end to the frame the radiator sits in (this is how I did it) If this is what your doing I hope you have a blowing fan and not a sucking fan
