Back in the land of the living..( just )

Post by mal »

Just come back from the moon and various other planets
Been quite ill since my last visit on here, after my 'own' drive it day back in April, I got a bad chest infection due to being parked next to the raipe seed feilds, ( photo on my topic ) well.. the doc came out and give me the usual medication but the next day I coughed and went down like a ton of bricks, suffered a few days but the wife had to get the doc; back out... apparently a disc in my back popped out and then returned into it's place leaving my spine bruised etc; I have not been able to do anything at all for weeks now :-? was on Diazepam & co-codemol so enjoyed the 'trips'  ( better than the 60's stuff )
Just managing to get around now and thought I'd let you know I'm not dead yet... missed 4 shows and not even seen the inside of the Moggy for weeks
Another week should do it... just in time for Newby Hall show ( fingers crossed )

If it doesn't work, you're not hitting it with a big enough hammer.

Get well soon Mal! I'm going to be working in Newby Hall in October, so I'll miss out on the shows! Still, it's a lovely place - I went and had a look round a couple of weeks ago.

Thanks to you all for your concern
Must admit I've never experienced anything as bad as that, I can now sympathise with people who suffer back probs; I'm now pottering around the garden but not bending over too far, I've just had a telling off from the wife...... she was upstairs hoovering and I went on the drive for the first time for a month and started the Moggy up  she caught me sitting in it but I wasn't going brum brum.. the engine was doing all the talking  wish I was as fit, first time start... nice to see it again and have a sit in it.......... hope I'm fit enough for an average size 2 day show at Newby Hall 9-10th June.. I've missed some good ones already :-?
I'm going to be working in Newby Hall in October, so I'll miss out on the shows! Still, it's a lovely place
Told you it was lovely Linda... congrats; on getting the job  if you fancy coming up to what I consider the best show in the North East PM me and I'll give you the address of where to apply for a pass... best £2 you'll ever spend.. ohh the date 15th July..

I can only echo the comments - get well

Just a question though - do you have the original seats or the more supportive newer seats. I seem to remember a discussion on here about the cornering ability of the moggie, and resulting bad backs because of the lack of support.

Thanks John for your wishes, from all that way
In answer to your question 'yes' I have the original seats in my Moggy.
I do remember a discussion some time ago regarding the support of the Moggy seats but I know that's not the reason for my present situation,I re-strapped my seats a while ago and they are very comfy & supportive... never had a problem in all the miles I do.
I think some of these back probs; just happen, look at the mountineer Alan Hincks, he put his back out halfway up a mountain sneezing on some curry powder.
Oh well, I hope this is a one off :-?
