seat belts again

Post by Chadbrook »

My 63 two door has never had seat belts but as I've bought it for my son's it has to have them.

I have read everything I can find here about seat belts and have found all of lower anchor points (I’m replacing the sills anyway so the outside points will be new) but there is nothing to say where the upper fixing should be here and nothing on the car.

Can anyone post a pic of the upper seat belt fixing for an around 63 two door minor, preferably inertia reel belts but anything would be appreciated to give me an idea.

thanks

Well,
I bought mine from ESM Minors:

You need a couple of anchor plates:

You drill a hole in the door post, (remove the rear trim to gain access to the back of the post) but the top mounting is very low, and the belt tends to be uncomfortable coming over your shoulder. I got round this buy using a couple of brackets which were included in the kit from ESM, just to give the top mounting a little extra height.

thank you, thats what I thought, the upper anchor actualy has to be too low because of the Minor B posts but with the extra brackets it becomes serviceable.

ps... love the tartan trim :P
