Dissertation on Issigonis

Post by ruthi840 »

Hi all,

My name is Ruth and I'm a 3rd year student at Dundee University currently working on my 4th year dissertation. As I have grown up around Morris Minors as my Dad is a collector (and a member of the club!) and I have quite a passion for car design I chose to write my dissertation on Issigonis and his two most famous designs, the Minor and the Mini.

I'm looking at how his designs are still alive and well today, originals in private collections and the reinvention of the Mini by BMW (please don't take this in support of the atrocity that is the BMW mini, just a look into WHY it was done etc.).

I'm trying to gather some research from those who once owned a Minor or Mini, or still do, in the form of questionnaires etc, so if anyone would like to help me out, and doesn't mind their answers being quoted in my dissertation, I'd be greatly appreciative!

Thanks a lot for the time you have taken to read this post,

Ruth Inglis

Hi Ruth, prehaps you could post the questionnaire online somewhere?

mh[one][zero][three]@ic.ac.uk...

replace the [x] with the appropriate ie. [one] = 1

I did it because it was quicker than sending a PM and posting "PM sent," then everybody copied me. My address is already "out there" so posting it again in disguised form isn't going to increase my spam load.

I hope it was ROLE and not ROLL which is all TOO obvious if you chuck it into a corner.
Better have a Scottish response to your questions bmcecosseAT hotmailDOTcom. I had Minor Saloon when at Uni (many moons ago) and now Traveller for fun. You know there is a lad in Dundee trying to almost give away a Traveller which he says is in fair condition ?
