fitting doors

right i'm starting to put my trav back tog.

the bottom door hinge has fallen out of the holder

is there an easy way to get it back in rather than cut a hole in ther inside kick panel and then weld it up afterwards.

also whats the best way to fit the door there seems a huge gap between the wing and the door.

all the panels are the same but just been re-sprayed apart from the door pillar and inner wings they're new

The method is to fit the door to the door opening with the best obtainable
gaps all round since the opening is not adjustable. If the welding has been done correctly then the door will be a good fit. Once it is fitted you
have the vertical line to which you can align the wing. Any misalignment inwards or outwards of the door and wing can then be adjusted by moving the hinges on the A pillar in or out. Always mark around the
hinges with a pencil so that you know where you started.

Steve, you can loosen the wing bolts and move the wing back as the bolt holes in the wing are elongated to allow for adjustment.

sorted nice gap and that the doors have to be slammed but thats because i put new rubber seals and its bigger than the original.

doors not perfect but its a lot better than it was.

i'll remember next time i put new posts on the attach the door first and then tack it as its been a real pain lining the door up again not enough adjustment on the hinges

but as i say it looks ok

yes limited adjustment on doors
even by moving in and out for the rubber seals can upset the gap as well,
you can lift the door at the bottom and by jerking it sometimes get a better fit

but even from the factory sometimes, well on lcvs it seems the door gap was lousy
