Ignition Light stays on

Hi.The red ignition light on my moggie stays on .I decided that the dynamo was the obvious problem.I have a replacement, so I stripped it down , renewed the bushes, cleaned it all up , put it back together and lubricated.I changed them over on the car, and still the red light stays on constant.Does anyone know what the problem might be ?

The contacts might need cleaning in the voltage regulator.

Thanks Alex I'll try that.It took me a while to sort the electrics out after I bought my car, it had been quite badly vandalised.I put a second hand voltage regulator on that I bought from ebay.I wonder if there is a fault with that ?

have you checked to see if you are getting a charge at the battery
