scratch on glass

Post by Pascal »

Hi,

I have a big scratch on my passenger window, apparently done by the lifting arm when a previous owner tried to remove the window.

Does anybody know a way to remove a scratch from the glass, e.g. with a special rubbing compound?

Regards

I think that you will find that Halfords sell a glass scratch removal kit.

Jewellers rouge is the stuff to use apparently.

Though when I tried polishing scratches out of some toughened glass all I got was aching arms (and minty fresh windows as I tried everything I could get my hands on).

Some sort of electric polisher might make the difference.

I got a glass scratch removal kit from Frost a while ago. Seems to work but it's a slow business as even using an electric drill you have to wait for the glass to cool down before having another go.
