Sorry guys, missed this thread!
It was nice to meet you guys while we were down in the New forest area, very interesting to see Carlo's car in the flesh. BTW, I'm the only member on the trip who goes on this forum, so my fault for not replying
Thanks to Carlo for the carb, much appreciated! We found the problem in Carl's traveller was simply a blocked air filter. He'd changed it 6 months ago, but a big piece of blue industrial tissue had been sucked into the air cleaner causing the car to run horribly rich. We sorted it out whilst parked up at beaulieu. Carls exhaust manifold leak also caused black smoke to be sucked back into the filter, making the problem even worse.
His car ran great and did nearly 40mpg on the way back.
My report on the trip is here:- http://homepages.gotadsl.co.uk/~jgm/ekm ... 20Trip.htm
I will be posting details of the forthcoming Hop soon.

Hi John,
Great write up and i'm glad to hear that the problem was solved on Carl's traveller and he got back fine with much better MPG!
It looks like you all had a wonderful weekend in our neck of the woods!
