Sri Lankan van chassis

Post by paulhumphries »

I rang the supplier of the new chassis and asked where they were made.
They said Sri Lanka so I voiced concern over qulaity as it's well know there can be "problems" with the panel.
Whether it's true or just a sales pitch but I was told the chassis are made in a different factory to the panels.
Anyone seen, bought, used a Sri Lankan chassis and want to comment on quality, fit of parts together, weld standard etc ?

If I bought one then I'd have it shot blasted and galv'd anyway so the one that was on eBay recenlty, and didn't sell, is tempting me.

Thanks.

Paul Humphries.

Hi Paul, who is it that supplies these and what was the price?
Perhaps they can obtain some previous customer testimonials as to the quality and fit etc.
If they can't it would make me worry, if they could it would help give a better picture as to just how good they are....

As far as I know there is just one supplier - Morris Minor Centre (Birmingham) Ltd.
I saw their advert on the back of "Minor Commercial" magazine produced by the LCV register.
The price is stated as £775 + vat making £910 in total.
