Trafficator switch

Post by keithworman »

Does anyone know the colour wiring for a trafficator switch with the bulb in the middle as I have conflicting information , the switch I have has the following wires hanging out of it

1 red & 1 black into terminal 2
1 red linking terminals 3 & 4
1 red wire into terminal 5

the books says different colours going to different places

any suggestions as to what does what? :D

That does not make sense since you seem to have nothing but red wires on the switch. We need to know precisely which type of trafficator switch you have. What year is the car. is the switch self cancelling?
Does it have the indicator bulb on the end of the stalk or is the horn push on the end of the stalk?

OK, your present switch should have the following leads on it. Green/red
feeds the left hand (nearside) trafficator and Green/White feeds the right hand one. The live feed to the switch is the plain Green wire so, if you still have those colours there it should be straight forward to wire up your new switch.
