Good luck finding rust free cabs & rear bodies. Ours may not rust away completely but you'll never find a rust free one.

I had my van cab restoration on hold for 2 years while I looked for a better cab. In the end I bit the bullet & replaced the floors, sills, A pillars & repaired the rest.
Most van backs have rusted out around the gutters & wheelarches also suffer badly.

If you're still keen though, I have a few LCV bodies that fit the above descriptions

Chassis' on the other hand are usually pretty good. I've only come across a couple in my 24 years of Morris Minoring that have needed replacement due to rust.
Some might need repairs around the eyebolts (cracks) or the rear exposed box section but that's about it.

As for the early MM bits, they're just as hard to find out here as the UK I think.

At the risk of betraying my lack of engineering knowledge - what's to stop someone taking measurements from a 'good' chassis, such as the one pictured, and making new ones?

Apart from the 'bendy' bits I can't see how it would be that difficult.
Looking at it from a laymans point of view - its just a load of boxsection welded together.

I only assume that the tooling and manufacturing costs would be prohibitive, else someone would already be knocking them out.

This is why I posted the other message asking for drawings with measurements (I don't have a chassis to measure myself)

Chassis is about to be filled with cavity wax................so when you think about it the rot has been removed, 6 coats of paint and treated with wax it should last for years! Bear in mind it is 40 years old now and only left the factory with a thin coat of black on it nowt else!

Oh by the way Dennis it is not for sale, I purchased it many years ago from e-bay, hard to beleive now I know for £105!!!!!

Just curious, but do the Q plates on that mean it doesn't have free road tax?

I've just checked on the DVLA web site and it states the road tax costs for this vehicle.
I checked details for my Minor and they are different / no road tax costs.
I therefore assume this is going to be one of the rare Minors where the owner has to pay road tax

well all minors are free tax
unless the vehicle has been modified to such an extent it requires a Q or kit car plate, in which case yes road tax will be payable
