heated rear screen

Hi,

Does anybody know where I could find a heating element to fix on the rear screen? I'd like to avoid swapping the screen if possible (a heating screen is about £150), but I would like something reasonably discreet with thin wires.

I've got one - a period Smith but is quite thick silver foil type elements.
Many years ago (1970's / 80's) when they were common I tried the thin wire type and although they worked they didn't seem to stay on the screen very well.
One though I've had is a second heater in the boot (under the false floor) blowing warm (doubt it's ever get hot !) air onto rear screen.

Thanks. I've seen a stick-on heater at the Triumph Sports Six Club; I think it should do the job.

By the way is it safe to use a rear heated screen with a dynamo or is it better to upgrade to an alternator to avoid draining the battery?

I would think about an alternator, the dynamo will struggle and only really keep up at good engine revs and if it is well maintained.

Another great screen heater is sold by ESM Morris Minors- check out the website, they do everything you could ever want...

Are you talking about the stick-on one or the full rear screen + heater? I asked them about the stick-on one and they said it has thick silver strips, which I find unsightly. The one from Triumph Sports Six seems to have thinner strips (1/8").

Just a suggestion... I haven't indulged in their heated windscreen so I didn't know... But their other stuff seems great.

You lot should feel lucky with the option of heated front/ rear screens.

Us poor splitscreen owners can only have a stick on on the back

What you need is a mog with the rear screen near enough to you to wipe with a cloth

I bet a pickiup is quite cosy and easily demisted since it is only a small space to heat

If you have one that er, blooming works
