Fitting Panel to Glovebox behind Steering Wheel........

Post by dougie700 »

Hi All,

Please can you help, i want to fit a panel to the glovebox housing behind the steering wheel, my question is how do you attach the top top screw on the housing with a panel in place? I want to fit some gauges and can get the 2 screws under the housing with panel in place but not the top 1, has anyone any experiance of doing this?

Thanks in advance

Dougie

not got experience but do plan to do the same myself.

looking at the surround I currently have in place the top screw is missing and it hold in place fine, so I guess its just as easy to leave it out.

Just hook a 2" spring onto the glovebox top mounting, reach through the large hole under the dash and attatch it to the wiper tube. The spring is only light weight so will not pull the wiper out of position. Removal is the reverse of fitting in good o'l Haynes jargon.

My panel is hinged at the bottom and at the top I made a twist latch accessable through the speedo opening or from underneath the dash.
