2007 LEO (Lands End to Orkney) Run
Hi all,
As time is already going on, if the inaugural LEO Run is to take place this year, we do need to start making arrangements now.
Obviously the first thing to know is, who is coming?
So if you're are seriously interested it would be appreciated if you could let me know as soon as possible.
It would be our intention to start from Lands End on Thursday 9th August and attend the Orkney Vintage Club Show (see http://www.orkneycommunities.co.uk/ORKN ... pageid=388) on Sunday 12th August.
All the best,
Bill Hewlett

Hi Bill,
didn't know you were also organising this - I had a load of details put together before my PC died. Ferry prices etc.. etc..
I'll gladly let you carry on ;-)
Let me know by phone when you have an application form ready - although depending on when that s , I may have my PC working again.

not that it really matters, but I though the suggestion of going to Orkney got added on top our existing plans of Lands end John-O-Groats.
Poor old Cam got to hear all about it on the last Jogle ;-)
anyway - carry on Bill :p
This kind of stuff needs someone who didn't recently kill their computer and all files / contacts / etc...
I've invited a few other car clubs over the last month - hope you don't mind (although the Stag owners didn't think they'd make it all the way without having to rebuild their V8's so they declined)

You're probably right Ray, memory's not what it was.rayofleamington wrote:not that it really matters, but I though the suggestion of going to Orkney got added on top our existing plans of Lands end John-O-Groats.

If you wan't to carry on Ray, no problem. However if you would like me to do it, could you let me have everything you've got please?rayofleamington wrote:

Bill,
Having done the Jogle and various long distance tours in my moggie I'm sort of interested in this.
I realise that it's early days yet but how would you see this working?
Would the three nights be for three 300'ish mile days, which in my standard 948 is six hours driving. If so would you see all the runners lodging at the same digs each night for camaraderie or making their own arrangements and finally meeting up at Orkney. As I see it, the intervening journeys could be done in convoy, or at your own pace if the fast guys are being held up by slower cars.
The return journey would presumably be done individually, unless any drivers local to each others homes want to 'pal up' on their way home.
I think that this may be a good one to do if my annual holiday doesn't end up intervening. The dating of which I have very little control over.

As you say it's early days yet, but if we are going to do it we do need to start making plans. At present I am open to suggestions, and will naturally go along with the majority vote. However if I am to make arrangements, then I must obviously have some 'definites' as I am sure you appreciate.
Incidentally I have previously done the run from Oxford in an 803 in two stages.

Judge,
Hmmm, a misconstrued misconstruing of a previous post is starting to get a bit complicated I had no problem with the post you posted. Just the response I responded with that I thought may have been misconstruable.
It's getting up there with the Danny Kaye 'Court Jester' dialog:
Jester: I've got it! I've got it! The pellet with the poison's in the vessel with the pestle; the chalice from the palace has the brew that is true! Right?
Griselda: Right. But there's been a change: they broke the chalice from the palace!
Jester: They *broke* the chalice from the palace?
Griselda: And replaced it with a flagon.
Jester: A flagon...?
Griselda: With the figure of a dragon.
Jester: Flagon with a dragon.
Griselda: Right.
Jester But did you put the pellet with the poison in the vessel with the pestle?
Griselda: No! The pellet with the poison's in the flagon with the dragon! The vessel with the pestle has the brew that is true!
Jester: The pellet with the poison's in the flagon with the dragon; the vessel with the pestle has the brew that is true.
Griselda: Just remember that.
