sills n pillars

Hello all, I'm a proud new owner of a 69 saloon that was well on its way to moggy heaven.

I've had it for 2 weeks, have cut out the rust and am busy piecing it back together. Problem is that it was sooooo rusty and botched beyond recognition (newspaper,filler and expanding foam

) I cant tell which parts I need for the sills and rear inner arches?

Pics to follow.

Does anyone have any diagrams of what makes up the sills?

Some parts have arrived, can I fit the front inner wings and hinge pillars before attacking the sills?
If anyone can help, my wife would be very gratefull

Good on you for taking on a late rotten saloon! I'd like to see pics and hear of your progress.

I would fit the hinger pillars first, so you can make sure the door gap is good before fully welding the sills pieces. You'll need to weld the boxing panel to the outer underfloor sill panel and to the inner sill/kidney panel before closing this with the inner wing. You could fit the rest of the inner wing and the lower piece last.

To get diagrams of the structure, ask ESM or Bull Motif for their catalogue and look at the panel diagrams. look at Flyings thread on how to re-buld a rotten Minor, this is really good too.

Of course most of what you now see has been removed! Luckily I have an old cider pit in the shed which makes life a bit easier. You can probably see she only just fits

ive managed to sort some of the pictures out that were missing so they have been updated

...but i will sort out the link with pics out has i do have more that wasn't posted up...just need sorting out has i have a few doubles etc

Much appreciated flying. I was wondering how long your project took from start to mot and if I'm being realistic?

I've got to finish by April 10 as my wifes american gas guzzler is going to new home.

well i spent nearly every day on it or when i had spare time and it took me just over 5 months from start to finish.........my target was 4 months but got delayed a little having minor set backs with the weather and with Christmas etc also waiting for parts to arrive or waiting for them to be in stock and then to be sent.....depends how bad it is and also how good you are in sense of experience you have to repair cars ....the one i did was rotten.....i went over the whole car and did has much has possible to save time in the long run.... i found after i did one side working out where the panels joined i got the 2nd side finished in a 7 days,but then had to prep it all for the respray....i hope this can give you a sort of idea how long it will take.....

has john says i would also like to see how you get on.... i love old cars and like to see any old cars back on the road....they don't make cars today like they used to

i have now updated all the pics .....might be a couple of doubles but i tried to get rid off most of them
