That is one for a later one, and probably not original.

The Series II (and MM) should have a pull switch

I have carefully wiggled mine at the back, that loosened mine up a bit.

What year is this one? Is this one pre oct 54?

There should be a small pin on the black part. Push the pin in with a thin driver and the pull part will come off. Then just unscrew the locking washer and the swith will be able to remove from the rear.

I'm trying desperately to find this small pin! I know there is a similar pin on the light switch of the thousand's. Could be that the pull knob is painted so the pin is hidden under the paint.

The YOM of the car is 1953

You will only find out by inspecting it very carefully! If it is paint ( never
seen painted switch knobs before) then you will have to scrape it off or press the pin in a little harder!

As your car is an early S11 it should have the smaller pull wiper switch on top of the dashboard - the knob on this does not have the pin fitting but is a screw fit.

This photo shows the switch (photo is late MM but dashboard is the same as early S11) http://potteries.mmoc.org.uk/RallyPics/ ... 06_075.JPG
