Diesel auto !

Post by paulhumphries »

I've just had the postman deliver the latest copy of Practical Classics (I've bought it from the first issue in 1980 and have every one !).
On page 56 / readers car is a 1964 Traveller belonging to Sam Cooke of Somerset. he has fitted a 1.9 Peugeot 309 diesel engine and a BW35 autobox from a 1972 Triumph 2000.

Paul Humphries.

Paul,
IIRC this was at the 2005 Rally. Looked very nice, but I think that the radiator had to be offset (angled) to allow the engine to fit. Very nicely done, but I wonder about the weight distribution - it looked a lot of engine over the front wheels.

I think there was some "adjustements" to the gerbox cover as well.

good lick,

Colin
