How can I be sure that the chassis number correspond to engine number ?

Is the chassis number could tell the original color and other caracteristics of the car ?

You can tell (when you get a heritage trust certificate) wether you chassis no matches up with your engine no.

well it is a traveller number and a 1098cc and a deluxe but thats about it .

Yes it is a series five Traveller de luxe but the following numbers are not
correct i.e. that should not be a 'B' in there. If you are really keen to find the actual chassis numbers you will find them stamped on the bulk-
head inside the engine compartment just to the right of the bonnet opening rod. They are usually paint filled but they are there. The engine is a 1098cc high compression but we need all the numbers.

In fact the B is an 8
Engine number is 10MAUH211514

Now some more questions ;;;
What is the differences betwenn a serie 5 and other series ?
What do you mean by "high compression" ? does this mean , more power ?
How would I know the original paint and interior color ?

The term'high compression' doesn't mean a lot in the context of the Minor
engine compared to the modern compression ratios. It merely means that
you have the usual 'car' engine as opposed to the low comp. van type.
The chassis number still does not add up because it is one digit too short,
the last models with only five digits in those numbers was around May
1951! so i advise you to double check the number on the log book and the bulkhead to hopefully find the missing item. The series 5 indicates that it is a 1098cc model. I cannot help re the engine number so what you need is to find someone with the same year of registration and the
ORIGINAL engine number to give you an idea but our cars are old and
lots of items will have been changed on most of them.

That's better. The vehicle was made between 1965 and 1966, hope that ties in with your details. The late type chassis numbers do not indicate
the paint colours this only applied up to 1958. If you need the original specifications do as Onne says and get a Heritage certificate.

series 5 is the 1098
The reason the jump between series 2 to 5 with only 2 new models in between is because the mini is classed as a series in there!!

A heritgae certificate will answer your questions, but a bit pricey for cheapo me.
