DVLC and missing engine number for V5

Post by richardfowke »

Having upgraded the Moggie and installed a 1275 engine and advised the insurers, I need to have the V5 amended. However there is no engine number on the block and I wonder what others have done in the same situation? All advice welcome. :-?

Why not call the DVLA and ask them?

I know that you believe you understand what you think I wrote, but I am not sure you realize that what you read is not what I meant.

I will have the same problem soon. I was advised to make one up... btw taking the engine number from your old engine is illegal. if you do ring the dvla do pass on what they said!
