Minor Monthly Mag

Post by plastic_orange »

Just received my copy today - my Blue V8 is in it, and the photos turned out really good. It was also pleasing to see my mate's (Jim Gill) V8 project here too, and also a bit about Jonathon from JLH.
I've been really impressed with the mag since Jon took over the reins, and long may it continue - plenty modded stuff for us all.

Cheers

Pete

I'm going to have to get a sub, I think. I see more and more favourable comments about it.

Well if its been overhauled I might take my sub out again.

When Brian was editor it was just dull after a few issues of the same thing every month.

And as long as items are not pinched from here and used as quotes.
Cheers

Everyone seems to be talking about Minor Monthly. Nothing wrong with that, but why not also consider submitting more articles to Minor Matters. I could be wrong, but I think it has a greater circulation.

Hi Judge, having run club magazines before I couldnt agree more with you, getting content is a nightmare and the more people that contribute the better. Sadly many people are happy to sit back and let others do the work, which makes it very difficult for people such as David who put a lot of time and effort in these things.
Running a monthly magazine is slightly different as a good percentage of the features are sourced by the people running the magazine, then you have proffesional photographers going out shooting the cars for the features. Thats not to say we don't encourage people to send in details of their pride and joy, but with a monthly magazine they normally have the resources to then go out and visit these people to get the required feature.

I have been made aware of that happening when Brian was in charge, but I can assure you it will not knowingly happen whilst I am in charge :D

Thanks for your comments Jon. Having submitted articles to both magazines, I honestly feel that anything that promotes an interest in the Morris Minor must be beneficial to all concerned.

Judge, again I couldn't agree more, we need to all work together so that in 5, 10, 15, 20odd years from now we are still seeing Morris Minors in regular use. I do feel that they are starting to appeal more again to younger drivers which has got to be a good thing, many of the traders I speak to have mentioned this, and I don't know if its just me but I have noticed more Minors being used on TV and in films over the last 6-12 months which is again great because it gets them out to a wider audience. Long live the Minor

Yeah! The young generation have finally come to the conclusion that Morris Minors are cool/retro.

And not made out of reinforced plastic and speaker wire like the chav cars :D
