Wheel nuts

Whilst swapping my wheels front & rear (see my earlier post re Mixing Tyres), I noticed that two wheel nuts on one wheel are slightly different.

Instead of being conical, the business end is rounded. I presume this was done by a tyre fitter when the 155's were put on a couple of years ago-he must have lost or damaged the originals.
Will rounded wheel nuts cause me a problem long term?

It depends, if the 'rounded' section still beds properly on the edges of the seat on the wheel then, presumably, it will still centralise the wheel. NEW
wheel nuts are readily available from the various Minor specialists.

I assume you mean the thicker end of the nuts facing outwards? In which case it doesn't matter if they are slightly rounded. If it were the inner face it could be a problem for the reason Willie mentioned. I can't see how this end would be rounded off though.

Chris,
no, I mean the business end of the nuts that mate with the conical hole in the wheel. The only problem I can think of is that maybe the reduced contact area will hammer a depression in the wheel over time. Since the other two nuts are standard, ther should be no problem with location. Probably time for new nuts anyway, they are approaching 40 years old. Best not skimp on things that keep you in contact with the ground!
