Ours is called Maggie, because we inherited one in our Channel Island home that was already called Aggie.

When we bought another one on the mainland our (then) two year old looked at it and said "Mummy's Aggie!" so it's been Maggie ever since :D

The two year old is now 23

agree, naming is either a little sad or a bit of harmless fun, I'd never name any of my cars of course:-

The traveller (pictured ) is called Ricky.
Project convertible is called "Dibble", project 4-door waiting in front garden is called "Madelaine".
Cheers John - all comments IMHO

Perhaps it would be good to hear from someone who hasn't named their minor yet! :D

Mine is called Lizzy.

When I was a young nipper living in london I remember a friend of my mums having a traveller, going for rides and days out as a kid, even moving house once with the help of the traveller.

So

Thats probably where I got the bug and love of them.

Unfortunatly this friend died a few years ago.

So when I finally got one I decided to name it after Liz, so the car became Lizzy.

Funny I've had any number of modern cars and they were just 'car' so definatly feel that something as lovable as a minor needs a name to make it a member of the family.

Although I am very very happy with my Minor and proud of it, I won't give it a name... Maybe it's because I'm Dutch :)

I am undecided what the trav will be called. I want to see how it behaves itself on the road. But I was thinking Monty.

My girlfriend has named the convertible Petey after Pete Doherty because she thinks its unreliable. No one else calls it that

A lot of new owners dont realise that the brakes need adjusting every few months if they use the car regularly and do a fair mileage but the standard brakes will always seem heavy compared to a modern car.

Mine is called Lovejoy because of his number plate :D

Heeheehee. I'm not going to say anything about carrying around antiques cos thats Chris Morley's job.

Mine's called Wilberforce cos of the no. plate too - WRC. No other name that has those letters in as far as I know. Although I like it because he was the MP that pushed the abolition of slavery through parliament which makes him cool init.

Because of the grinning grille and the fact that it was a bit of a dog to start with we called our first minor Mutley (the current owner still does). Then we bought the split screen (Darstardly), then the traveller (clunk) and finally the 4 door (Zilly) the fleet itself called Vulture Squaden (after the cartoon stop the pidgeon). Much more fun than trying to make words out of numberplate letters.
