Marina Diff, is it interchangable?

Post by Matt »

Ok, this new trav of mine has all marina running gear. I have no problem with the rear axle, but is the diff in it interchangeable with minor ones?

Seem to remember someone saying Marina diff was Triumph based, or was it gearbox.

Gearbox and back axle are Dolomite/ 1500TC based (not Sprint though) - Or the Dolomite gearbox is Marina based (I think that's the right way round for that part, the early Dolomites had a three rail, later had a single rail which I think the Marina had earlier).

As far as I know the TR7 uses the same diff, and probably other Triumphs in different housings. Should give you a few fairly cheap options for ratios if that was what you were thnking, as the same axle casing was used from 1300 up to 1850HL, with a couple of automatics in the range too :)
