Coil bracket with alternator

If I fit an alternator I'd like to keep the coil in the original postition on top of it.
Can anyone tell me if an alternative coil bracket, to fit an alternator, is available and if so from where ?

I have a homemade one on mine which I haven't used. I can probably take a photo if you'd like to see how it was done?

Generally two options: move coil to bodywork (inner wing or bulkhead) or make a bracket that is fitted to the rear of the alternator mounting bracket - several traders supply them with their kits, and should therefore be able to sell the separately.

I think my alternator was originally from a mini, might be worth trying the traders.

I assume the belt is not as near as your photo makes it look.

There is a third option of mounting it under one of the head nuts.

I use the standard Metro coil bracket that goes on the head stud second from the back (next one to the steady bar)

You can use the rear alternator mounting bracket found on an old Mini, Marina or Allegro, but not the Metro or Ital.
I have mounted my coil vertically (connections at the top) on the inner offside wing as its cooler there.

Mine's moved to the inner wing after I had a few coil brackets disintegrate. I'd say that this is evidence of my engine being overly vibey, but it's a problem I had with the original engine which was smooth as anything too. Mind, they seemed to be very thin metal.

Charlie Ware had a bracket they used on my car when they fitted the alternator which allowed the coil to remain in it's original position...

mine on the inner wing with some sort of contraption that keeps the water off it it came from a landrover and i made it fit

with a nice hammer

Would it not have been easier to use a mini cover.
