How to identify a Diff
Does the 4.55 diff always have a filler plug on the side of the diff housing?
And is it correct that the 4.3 axle always has the filler plug on the axle case at the rear?
I realise that there are some hybrids out there with either two or no plugs.
Otherwise will I need to count the teeth?

much easier to count teeth to avoid any confusion. There are also 3.9 and 3.7 versions out there.

when I cleaned it it was marked 9/41 on the casting! 4.555 it is then.
As you may have seen elsewhere, it was a false alarm nothing wrong inside the diff must have been someones old teeth that fell out!!!
