I've recently purchased the above elect. ignition kit but have been advised by my local garage that they are unable to fit it/it does not work? The car has been converted to negative earth in accordance with MMOC Tech. Manual.
My garage mentioned that this kit may not be compatible with my coil?
Has anyone else had any problems with fitting this kit? Any advice/insight would be greatly appreciated!

True, it might indeed not be compatible with your coil, but there shouldn't be any other problems.
I personally would have gone for the Aldon Ignitor kit, as that can't be seen, apart from two wires

The instructioins with the kit that you've got will tell you the resistance of the coil. The support from the company is excellent too. I fitted one kit a couple of years ago and it has been no trouble at all over 20K miles. One in another car failed after about 6K miles but was replaced without quibble. The second one failed after another 4K miles & I went back to points. So, when they work they are excellent, but carry some points & condesner in case you need a roadside repair. When they are working it's great to not have to clean/adjust points & timing every two months (we use the cars every day). The kit will fit any negative earth Minor subject to checking the coil.
