Removing the tie bar is only a two bolt operation. Leave the front end on the chassis bracket and remove the front arm completely. I'm sure BM's method is fine if you know the proceedure well and need to do a quick job. I'd remove the front arm and tie bar from it as it allows much easier access to the thick arm, and only takes a few more seconds to do. For a raw beginner give yourself an hour a side and take your time, familiarising yourself with the relevant components and methodology. You can also ascertain the condition of bushes and pins.

I agrre - if you are in no great hurry - take the front arm off too - makes it easier to bash the rear arm with FBH. But you don't need to undo the main front nut on the tie-bar, just push it to the side.
