When I fit te new fuel line on Sophie I'm going to insulate the length of it in the engine bay with foil covered insulation' if I can find the right size, to see if it stops vapourisation.

When stuck in traffic on a very hot day earlier in the year, the fuel pump on Hermione started to click manically.

That's the only time though.

Mine is joined with a bit of rubber pipe exactly as you say. I was reminded of this recently when it started to leak and drip petrol on my drive. Rubber doesn't last as well as the metal pipe! Simple enough to replace the perished pipe but of course it only leaked with a full tank so I had to drain a couple of gallons first.

It's a conventional thread - anticlockwise to undo.

If it doesn't work, you're not hitting it with a big enough hammer.

No Problem but make sure you get a suitable petrol type of rubber pipe.
Cheers

One that's sold for connecting petrol lines !! See the Minispares or MOSS websites - they do all different lengths - and yes with metal braiding.

Why not do a proper job & replace the complete pipe - Only £12 from ESM (other suppliers are available)
