Which green wire!

Post by badfelafel »

I've got a temp gauge ready to go on, and have the speedo out.
I was expecting to see a green wire with a sticker on it saying "ME! You want me!" but instead theres approximately 2 or 3 million green wires there coming out the back of the speedo :(

Theres one that goes from a little box at the top of the back of the speedo down to the fuel gauge - will try that and let you know!

Oh no, I cut the red wire and the car exploded!

Actually, I used that one, and just after I switch on the gauge moves on to C which is a good sign! Will drive into town just now, hopefully it will move into the middle at some point. Of course, it could be completely wrong !!!

:) Hooray - temp gauge works

Post by badfelafel »

Just back from town. Temp gauge seems to work! Great :)

It goes up when sitting in traffic. It was quite high going up a steep hill with no cool wind.

It goes down when cruising along in 4th with a cool wind hitting the car.

Mostly it stayed around the middle of the white part.

:)

But can you tell from it at what point the engine is about to boil over?

If it doesn't work, you're not hitting it with a big enough hammer.
