temp sender

Post by jtd.75 »

Hi can anyone tell, I have fitted a temperature sender and gauge, and when I came to the wiring I looked up tech tips and the diagram shows a regulator on the back of the speedo ( fuel gauge). On the rear of my speedo there is none fitted ( 1960 948cc 2 door), a, is this correct and b, if this is so how does one wire in the gauge from the sender.

If you want a consistent reading then you should fit the voltage stabiliser, you
can buy separate units to mount wherever you wish. If you are not going to
bother then you take the live feed for the temp gauge from the GREEN lead
on the fuel gauge or any green lead from the fuse which is live when ignition
is on.

Well, you have the gold faced speedo haven't you? Those use the older style sender unit. Which somehow doesn't need the stabiliser.

It's all magic to me!

stabiliser

As far as I am aware the voltage stabilisers came in with the black faced
speedometers i.e. 1964.
