Does anyone out there know if it is possible to fit the timing cover and front pulley from a 948 engine onto the 803 SER II engine?
I don't like the felt seal arrangement of the 803 (it leaks , no matter what you do!) and the 948 has the timing marks at the bottom, thus making it easier to set by strobe light!

If it doesn't fit, you might find someone to fit an improved seal arrangement to the existing cover. It need to be done well to make sure the alignments are good.
I just had a lip seal fitted on my 1098 gearbox front plate which they did by machining the old seal area away and welding an insert in of the correct size for the seal.

It depends on which 803! If you have an 803 with the wide fan belt, the crank pulley fouls the new timing pointers. You could change all rthe pulleys, though.
