just wondering how much pedal movement you have before the pedal meets resistance as i have about and inch and a half before this happens.
i assume i can adjust most of this out but was wondering how much to leave as slack!

One handbook I own say's 3/4" on all models, while Haynes say 3/4" on 9M engine, and 1 1/4" on 10M engine using the presure of one finger.
(not sure which finger though

First things first, but not necessarily in that order.

clutch pedal
That is correct, 3/4" free movement on the earlier cars and 1 1/2" on the later models. If you find that the 1 1/2" adjustment leads to a crunching
gear change then your clutch linkage could probably do with an overhaul i.e.
new clevis pins and rubber bush etc.
