correct colour for fan blade??

Fiat Broom Yellow in Halfords aerosol looks good.
Just done the fan blade on my Traveller with that particular colour when fitting solid type bypass hose. Water pump off route.
Off topic but has anyone experienced a problem with fan belt tension adjustment with an alternator fitted?
I removed the alternator, radiator etc. for ease of access to water pump. Fitted new hoses and fan belt. However, when fitting the fan belt the alternator would not move enough to allow easy fitting of belt. The front casing flange was touching the end of the engine mount stud/nut. I had to cut the protruding end of the stud and part of the nut to allow sufficient movement of the alternator for the belt to slip over the pulley(s). Obviously there will not be a problem of adjustment as the belt stretches but it was quite an epic fitting it initially. :-?

i don't have personal experience yet which would help here but i have noticed that ESM sell different length fan belts depending on whether you have an alternator or not, see http://morrisminorspares.co.uk/shop/adv ... 8&x=4&y=10

I have a tin of original yellow fan blade paint, taken from factory that made the blades in the early sixties.----------no only joking!

Just out of interest?

Is a 'proper' BMC 4-blade fan just 2x two blade fans stuck together?

I only ask as this is how I've made my '4 blader'. :lol:

That's the only way I've seen it made up, Btw it may have a different effect on a Minor, but I fitted one on a Cooper S a long time ago and it took me ages to pinpoint a constant 'throbing' sound. -----You've got it! It was the 4 blade fan. Putting back the original, it was a different car!
