Compression query

Post by Onne »

I have a 948 Austin engine sat here

factory recon unit (8G9 R L 29932)

Does the L indicate low compression?

And no, I do not want to take the head off! :D

It has a beautiful oil bath air cleaner too! No more new air filters for me.

I'm takin' a guess here...

8G9 is 948
R is recon
L is Low Compression

Go ahead shoot me down :P

my thoughts exactly, but I do hope that I am wrong.

That said, it is a small wonder that I keep picking up low compression Austin engines :D

The old one's pretty dead - most of it's been stripped and various bits reused :D
