Difficulty fitting the straps is a common complaint.

I presume you already have the seat out.
Fit one end, then using both hands, stretch the strap so the connector reaches the other end of the frame.
Then get a helper to fiddle with the wire/hooked parts until they go in the holes.
Using leather gardening gloves lessens the pain when the wire digs into your fingers.

I did mine on my own, so after stretching with both hands, I needed to release one hand to guide the wire. Really not easy, as if you only hook one end of the wire and you have to let go (when your arm gets tired) the wire can be a bit vicious.
