Clucth pedal sticking

this seems starnge to me, when normal driving the pedals are fine, when I pull up to stop and press the clucth with the brake, the Clucth pedal stays on the floor, once the brake is relised the clucth pedal pops back up.

I havent really looked at it yet. but how can the clucth be liked to the brake.

'Cos they're on the same shaft! The clutch pedal has the shaft attached (welded) and the brake pedal goes onto that with a phosphor-bronze bush which, in your case, needs replacing. You might get some improvement by squirting some oil or WD40 in there - lift the carpet and remove the cover panel (lots of chunky brass c/s screws) and you'll be able to see the bush. (probably need a torch)

If you go the whole hog and replace the clutch pedal as well you'll have to remove the gearbox cover -lots more c/s screws. If so, then it's best to replace the linkage plates, clevis pins, bushes etc.

Yes Stig is quite right and as he says you will probably not get away with just replacing on bush as years of no lubrication (there is no direct provision) causes everything to wear, Willie recently replaced his and made provision for future lubrication, hopefully some oil will rescue the situation for the moment and it can be an awkward job to undertake and you wont know exactly whats worn until its all apart.

I've done it recently, this is a matter of 'replacing is cheaper than fixing' case, once you take everything apart you'll probably agree...

As a short term 'fix' you can lift off the brake for a split second to allow the clutch to re-engage. this is a bit of a habit of mine after having so many pet-rescue minors :lol:
On all the one's I've had apart, the clutch pivot shaft was badly worn where the brake pedal fits and needed repair/replacement. It can be repaired by welding up and grinding back to round but replacement is a lot easier. On the last one I did, the pedal shaft bushes were ok - it was only the shaft that was worn (the brake pedal pivot bushes should wear more as they should be softer than the clutch pivot shaft).

At the same time it is worth to replace the bushes in the chassis leg. A new shaft and 4 new bushes and a load of grease will make a whole heap of difference. :D
