4 Door rear doors

Post by rupert »

Hi does anyone know why the inside edges of the rear doors on my 4 door are rotten all the way up to the window? I'm probably going to be getting some other ones, but are they all likely to be like this?! Is there some kind of corrosion due to dissimilar metals going on, or has the loon who "restored" my car been at it again!

thanks

Rupert

p.s. if anyone has any rear doors for sale please let me know! (just outside Edinburgh)

Well I have not heard of a specific problem when it comes to doors just the usual blocked drain holes and window runners, but with old cars and assorted previous owners anything is possible.

They usually just go at the bottom, unusual to have rust further up???

it seems to have done around the hinges - and at the bottom obviously (hence the question about disimilar metal corroson)

Incidently I'm really impressed with the way the rear doors are hung - they just pop into the pillar - no mucking about trying to get the screws in
